  • As a member of the Senior Management Team at ChildVision, I primarily have a duty of care to the organisation to implement and deliver a comprehensive strategic plan which supports the growth of the organisation for all involved.
  • Responsible for line managing all clinical departments in ChildVision which include: Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Nursing, Equine Assisted Activities and Equine Assisted Occupational Therapy.
  • Tasked with expanding current service provision from campus based delivery to an ongoing national assessment and intervention service in line with the Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model in the HSE.
  • Providing a framework for Clinical Governance in ChildVision through; directed Learning, shared Learning and evidence Based Practise sub committees.
  • Contributing to the development of the New Campus by liaising with ChildVision's architect and the HSE in regards to clinical space required and to ensure accessibility for all within the development.
  • Ongoing engagement with the HSE to advocate for ongoing and the expansion of services.
  • Develop key relationships with Government ministers, in particular the Minister for Disabilities and the Minister for Health, in order to educate policy makers regarding the specific needs of visual impairment.

Senior Speech and Language Therapist

  • Responsible for providing a speech and language therapy service to a dynamic caseload of students ranging from 0-25 years with a primary diagnosis of visual impairment and complex needs.
  • Supporting the speech and language therapy team in terms of triaging caseload based on need, supervision requirements for CORU and engaging with continuous professional development.
  • Adapting assessments to meet the clinical needs of a visually impaired caseload.
  • Developed the ADOS team within ChildVision. A team which now offers a differential diagnosis between Autism and blindisms. This is now a national assessment service. ChildVision is the only team in Ireland who are qualified to provide this assessment.
  • Engaged parents and families in learning process to support student progress.
