  • Worked in a faced paced environment to reach daily targets and followed manual instructions to effectively manufacture devices

Internship: Biodiversity Conservation Project

  • Carried out research towards an ongoing project on the effects of tourism and pollution on cetaceans and marine life along a busy tourist area and port in Costa Adeje, Tenerife.
  • Field surveys for boat traffic, vessel types, abundance, activity and weather conditions were tracked and logged in an excel sheet three times a week.
  • Beach cleans were carried out twice a week and different pollution types were logged into a pollution app, noticing a large abundance of cigarettes and beverages.
  • Went out on a powerboat three times a week with fellow interns and researchers to observe marine life behaviors, Species abundance and diversity, coordinates and GPS data, weather conditions and vessels present per sighting.
  • This data was collected on an effort sheet which was inputted on an excel sheet being sent to CEAMAR (Cetaceans and Marine Research Institute of Canary Islands) .
  • Photographs of fins were taken for identification and were compared to a sighting photo database in the Canary Islands of Pilot whales, white Striped Dolphins and Common Dolphins with their names and ID numbers to see if we found a match and to track their migration patterns.
  • Research conducted is currently being complied into a scientific report in hopes to influence EU policymakers about the complex issues being faced and how best to implement change and action based on these findings, implement stricter regulations in the tourism Industry and it's impacts on the marine life and the environment.
  • Worked successfully as part of a passionate team of interns and researchers to ensure the project ran smoothly and successfully and to support each other during challenges.
  • A documentary on youtube called Salvar Tenerife highlights the issues this project and other projects are trying to help with and the changes that are required.

Volunteer Experience

  • Project Fundraiser for Habitat For Humanity Non Profit Organisation.
  • I helped create and develop fundraisers towards the funding of housing in a rural village in Zambia, Kabwe. Planned fundraising events such as bake sales, raffles and street collections. Fundraised 29,000 euro with a group of ten people. Visited Kabwe Zambia in June 2019 for two weeks to help in building homes on a construction site.
