Summary

As a result of my previous teaching experience, I have developed an appreciation for professional collaboration, which relates to collaboration with both the students and my fellow colleagues. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is the foundation of my unit and lesson planning as I believe this approach gives all students the best opportunity to succeed, as well as fostering an environment where students have agency over their own learning. I am committed to nurturing the holistic development of students, both in the classroom and through extra-curricular activities. I am also committed to my own professional development, constantly searching for new strategies to embed in my teaching practice to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences each day. Throughout my time on placement during my undergraduate and PME years, I have been faced with several challenges and opportunities to take on extra work, which is something I have coped very well with.
