Accomplishments

  • I took part in the Student 2 Student initiative in Trinity College Dublin for the duration of my 2nd year (2024-2025). In this initiative I acted as a mentor to younger students in my respective degree to act as a helping hand for them to get settled to life in college and to answer any questions they had as I was once in their shoes. We hosted weekly events for them to meet new people and have some familiar faces to see around the campus.

  • I participated in providing a presentation in Clogher Road Community College in Dublin as a part of the Think Languages Week initiative in November 2024. This secondary school was involved in TAP, which is the Trinity Access Program, which provides accommodations in order for disadvantaged students to enrol in Trinity College in a more inclusive and fair manner than traditional CAO methods. During this, one of my classmates and I delivered a presentation targeted to students that were currently enrolled in transition year, the leaving cycle and leaving cert applied to give an insight into what studying languages in college is like, and more specifically in Trinity. I took great pride in being a part of this initiative as modern language skills are hugely important throughout any career in this modern day and age of global mobility.
