In my role as a tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), I play a pivotal role in shaping the clinical acumen and professional growth of future healthcare practitioners. My responsibilities extend beyond teaching, encompassing mentorship, assessment, and continuous academic support.

• Engaging Weekly Tutorials: Every Wednesday, I conduct interactive, case-based tutorials designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world clinical practice. These sessions foster critical thinking, diagnostic reasoning, and hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Clinical Assessment & Examinations: I take an active role in organizing and facilitating the midpoint and final Clinical Assessment Skills Examinations (CASCs), ensuring students are rigorously evaluated on their ability to apply medical knowledge in high-pressure, patient-centered scenarios.
• Case Reports and Reflective Essays Review & Feedback: Through Moodle, I meticulously review case reports and reflective writing essays, offering constructive and detailed feedback to enhance students' analytical and self-reflective capabilities.
• Collaboration with Senior Faculty: I provide comprehensive feedback to senior clinical lecturers, contributing to the continuous development of students, and ensuring that educational strategies align with the highest standards of medical training.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Outpatient Clinics: Manage a caseload of patients in General Adult psychiatry Clinic in Swords from Monday to Friday, addressing their needs in the community.

Inpatient Rounds:

Every Monday, participate in inpatient rounds with your consultant psychiatrist, conducting psychiatric assessments and developing treatment plans for admitted patients at the Ashlin Centre, Dublin 5

Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Meetings:

Tuesdays: Contribute to community outpatient MDT discussions focused on holistic care.

Wednesdays: Participate in inpatient MDT meetings, working with a team of professionals to create comprehensive care plans for patients.

Weekly Teaching (Fridays): Attend structured teaching sessions, including case presentations, journal club discussions, and reflective practice groups, to enhance learning and clinical skills. Educational and Leadership Roles:

• My responsibilities were.
• Initial assessment of the patient and actively participate in all aspects of patient care, including history taking, physical examination, diagnostic and therapeutic planning, procedures, writing orders, and interactions with family.
• In-depth discussion of all cases with the supervisor prior to the initiation of diagnostic studies or therapeutic interventions.
• Keeping the ward supervisor and the on-call supervisor informed of any major changes in patient status. Providing thorough, complete, and prompt documentation of all aspects of patient care.
• I have the responsibility to countersign all student notes and assessments.
• Teaching medical students the clinical aspects of psychiatry during their rotations.
• Diagnosing and managing psychiatric patients in outpatient and inpatient departments.
