• Management of chronic disease with the emphasis on supporting elderly patients maintain independence in the home. This includes identifying lifestyle risk factors and advising on healthier lifestyles.
• Trained in 'phone triage by Caredoc ensuring patient referral to the appropriate level of care ranging from nurse advice to hospital referral.
• Combined ante-natal and post-natal care of pregnant practice cohort including pre- conceptual care.
• Management of childhood immunization schedule for children as per HSE PCIP and adult vaccinations to a lesser extent.
• Cervical screening as a registered smear taker ,applying changes as part of the National Screening Programme and applying significant expertise in female health and sexual health providing non- judgemental patient education.
• Execution of the following tasks- ear lavage, cryotherapy, wound management.
• Range of clinical screening tests including phlebotomy, spirometry, ECG, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
• Results management, health promotion and health education.
• Nurse prescribing relevant to the practice population and within scope of practice. Medicine management and advice where needed.

• My role was similar to that of previous General Practice employment.
• I was concurrently a vaccinator during the roll out of the Covid vaccination programme at Citywest.

Of note: My experience in General Practice and 'phone triage began in 1993. Several GP employers have retired in recent years and their practice no longer exists or has been taken over by a consortium. My experience includes agency Midwife, nurse triage with DubDoc , a GP out-of-hours service and periods as a Locum Practice Nurse.

• The role was similar to that of my present General Practice employment .
• Whilst here I worked at Dudcoc , the out-of-hours Gp service based in St James Hospital as triage nurse.

Of note: My original employer has since retired but I worked with Dr Mulqueen at this practice for 12 years.

• Out- Of- Hours 'phone triage which was preceded by comprehensive training in both Carlow and Dublin.
• D.DOC is an out-of-hours service providing cover to a large co-operative of North Dublin GPs working out of five centres providing a range of services .
• The service provides remote nurse or DR advice, routine face to face appointments in outlying clinics, home visits , emergency call outs, hospital referral and occasionally death notification.
• The role involved triaging each call according to a hierarchy of priority and referring the caller to the appropriate level of service which included a complex range of potential outcomes ranging from nurse advice to hospital referral.
