• To be actively involved in the care of residents on a daily basis.

• To be responsible for promoting best practice evidence based standards of nursing care.

•To be responsible for promoting the independence of residents by communicating with them and encouraging their active participation in care decisions.

•To have a person-centered approach to individualized residents' care planning, and to the implementation and evaluation of care provided.

•To demonstrate clinical knowledge in the management of residents illnesses.

• To establish and develop effective communication between the residents, their relatives and all members of the care team.

• Safe custody and administration of drugs in accordance with Department of Health Guidelines.

• To maintain a safe working environment and ensure effective and economical use of all resources.

• To report to Clinical nurse Manager/director of Nursing when changes occur in circumstances, which affect safe, competent practice.

• To maintain accurate and up to date nursing documentation for all for required clinical and legal records.

• To enhance & promote a home environment which reflects a commitment to respect and care for all who live and work in the nursing home.

• To ensure competence in all professional practice through continuing education which is relevant to the role.

• Collated medical data for patient records, maintaining strict confidentiality.

• Carefully monitored, recorded and reported changes in patient symptoms to deliver best care practices.

• Demonstrated compassionate communication skills, empathetically delivering difficult news to patients and families.

• Managed catheters to promote strong hygiene and patient comfort

• Monitor and report vital signs and medical information of the Patient
• Prepare the patient and equipment for various procedures and assist the Surgeon
• Prepare and administer medications (Oral, IV and SC) as per prescription
• Collect specimens such as blood, sputum, stool and urine, order and record laboratory results
• Provide Oxygen therapy and secretion suctions if needed
• Provide basic bedside care for Pre and Post-surgical patients
• Educated patients on wound and disease self-management techniques to avoid infection and promote faster healing and recovery.
• Observes, records & report to supervisor or physician, patients condition & reaction to drugs, treatment & significant incidents
• Maintain patient's medical records on nursing observations and actions taken such as: medications & treatment given, test, intake & emission of liquids & solids
• Observes emotional stability of patients, expresses interests in their progress & prepares them for continuing care after discharges
• Performs nursing activities related to referral, code blue, code yellow, code green, code red, code pink & code white
• Ensure awareness of the functionality of machines available within the unit
• Records nursing needs of patients and assure continuity of care
