Being a HSCL Coordinator needs a person who doesn't stop working at 3.45pm and who are available to be contacted by a parent/carer when a crisis occurs. This role also take around 1.5 years to adapt to but because of my experience as a HSCL Coordinator this delay in getting to know the role will not be an issue. I also have a great knowledge of the Geography of the area which is an advantage while doing home visits.
From my experience of doing the role of HSCL teacher in the past , I now understand that the main qualities needed for this job is to be able to listen with your heart and ears, gain peoples trust, organisiation and the ability to establish links in the community.

For my AP2 I was responsible for Healthcare of our students, PR for the school and Educational Attainment. Organising medical needs and medicine and informing staff of same. Posting our good news on our social media channels. I also organised after school classes in subject areas, homework club , after school study. I analysed results and had conversations with students about their progress or need to work harder. I shared results of class performances with staff at meetings. I contacted parents when needed and advised them of the support they could get after school to help improve their childs grade.
