From studying at the renowned UCD School of Agriculture I have gained in-depth knowledge of agriculture but am still open to learning more. I'm a team player and have been playing GAA all my life.   • Currently, I am working part-time on a progressive dairy and beef farm in West Cork.
  • Duties on the farm include day-to-day on-farm tasks, such as milking cows, monitoring animal health, grassland management, rearing young stock, recording data, and implementing it into farm management software, as well as driving farm machinery.
  • Other duties include preparing breeding plans and selecting the most suitable sires, be it dairy or beef, for the improvement of the performance of the next generation, with the aid of the ICBF tool Sire Advice.
  • Also, carry out all grass measuring on the farm and implement the data into Pasturebase, as well as analysing the data to make decisions around grazing management.
