Waterford,Waterford

Summary

Throughout my years of working and learning here are some of my achievements in the different fields.

Football Player

Played on the Waterford development squads from U12 all the way to youths where I was then named captain of the team for that year. I have won a few league titles and 2 cups with my local team Southend United,

where I am now the captain for the mens team. I have this passion for football and this drive that just make me want to do nothing but win. I feel I must win at all cost when I am playing with my football team. This passion and drive has thought me that if you love and enjoy something in life and you give it your all you can do anything

Football Coach

As a football coach I have achieved a medal in the one year I coached which was Runners Up of the shield Final in the Galway Cup 2022 with the U13 Waterford Development Squad

In my time on this course I achieved many certificates and course completions some of them including ITEC Diploma in personal training, QQI Level 5 in sport and rec, First Aid Training, Uefa D license, PDP1 and PDP2. These have made me see that I am a quick learner and good listener with a good focus on a task put in front of me

Work history

Barman

Dean Hale
Waterford, Waterford
06.2022 - Current

While working as a Barman, I learnt many skills. Some of my jobs as a Barman were as follows,

  • Maintained bar stocks, replenishing daily as necessary.
  • Prepared mixed drinks and poured wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages within target service timeframes.
  • Performed bar closing duties, thoroughly cleaning, sanitising and replenishing stock.
  • Collected cash payments, processing and providing correct change and receipts using Point Of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Changed beer kegs safely and efficiently, consistently following health and hygiene guidelines.
  • Greeted customers by name, remembering drinks selections and special requests to provide attentive, personalised service.
  • Maintained knowledge of drinks promotions, pricing and menu changes, offering customers up-to-date, reliable advice.

These were my main jobs that I carried out on a day to day basis as my time working as a Barman.

Being a Barman helped improve my social skills immensely. I got to know people and what there preferred drinks were, I became well known to many of the locals and provided a kind and welcoming service every time they set foot into the bar. I kept a positive attitude and made sure to look busy all the time. Being a barman there is always something to do.

Football Coach

Derek O Brien
Waterford, Waterford
04.2022 - 01.2023

My time as a coach was not very long but I am proud to say it was successful. I began coaching because the manager of the U13 Waterford Development squad was originally my coach through my time of playing for Waterford throughout the years. He offered me a place as a coach where I was more then happy to take. In my time coaching i had the role of coaching through training drills, setting up drills, collecting the gear at the end of training etc.

My achievements as a coach are the following

-U13 Galway Cup Runners up 2022

Coaching was one of my strong points as Football is my main sport. I know the game very well and carried out training drills specifically for matches and in game scenarios. Although I am no longer coaching I know myself as I get older I will end up taking one of my childhood club teams and do my best to give back to the club by winning them a few trophies.

Summer Camp Coordinator

Dale Kennedy
Waterford, Waterford
06.2021 - 08.2022

I worked as a summer camp coordinator in the summer of 2021 in Kingfisher Waterford. This is was my first job and I have to say I enjoyed it. I picked up quite a few skills in the time of working this job. Some of them as follows

-Patience, this was a key factor in working this position. I had to be very patient with the kids I worked with as I was in charge of the youngest group.

-Time Management, trying to keep a group of 20+ children together and getting them in for lunch and back out on time was challenging. However as the weeks went on I got better and better at this.

My jobs as a Summer Camp Coordinator were as follows.

-Ensure a safe and enjoyable day for the children

-Keep an eye out for any child who seems to be excluded from the group

-Check the floors of the hall and football pitch for any sharp or any objects that could hurt the children

-Clean up after the children at the end of the day and put all equipment back safely and neatly

-Make sure all kids signed in and out with the parent that was left on the sign up sheet

I also went back to this job that Halloween break. It consisted of the same job as the summer as I was familiar with what to do and had knowledge in that field of work
