Team building: I have always been involved in team sports and get energy from the camaraderie involved In college I work in projects and enjoy the fact that the output benefits from the diversity of thought that team working brings I bring calm to teams and have an ability to help resolve any disagreements when they arise
Leadership: I have never been given the official title of captain or ‘leader” in the teams however I naturally find myself occupying a close relationship to those who are My leadership skills are in the “quietly supportive” realm
Communication: I would say that I am a quietly confident individual but having grown up in a family where debate and discussion was always in abundance around the dinner table, I believe I have developed into strong communicator Being a member of a successful sport team, working in several customer facing part-time jobs and my time spent in Eversheds Sutherland has also helped fine tune my communication skills
Determination:
From the age of 5 I was determined to get on the junior cup team and through dedication and hard work I got there After school, I wanted to experience a different environment than the one I had always grown-up in My grandfather was a high Court judge in Africa, so I also had a dream of studying law I applied to Galway to do this and got the points the college and the course I wanted
Organisation: As an intern, I was required to juggle multiple tasks each day, from legal research to administrative tasks The importance of staying organised was paramount I developed the habit of creating detailed to-do lists which I would start each morning with the tasks that I still had to finish from my previous day's work and add to it as I was given more tasks as the day went on Through this I was able to clearly see my workload for the day ahead, prioritise my different tasks and manage my time effectively By using this method, I was nearly always able to meet deadlines while maintaining consistent job quality
Stress Management: Legal work can be stressful at times, especially when faced with tight deadlines During my internship, I encountered many high-pressure situations I learned to maintain composure by breaking down tasks into reasonable steps and seeking help when necessary
Rugby: I played at a serious level all the way till 5th year in school until Covid got in the way. I won a Junior Cup Leinster Champion medal in 2018. I was also a member of the University of Galway under 20s team in my first year of college.
Golf: I am a current member of Killiney Golf club and was the Junior Golf champion of the club in 2015.
