Position: Apprentice Electrical Instrumentation Technician

Areas of Responsibility

• General maintenance and up-keep of the Little Island plant in both electrical and instrumentation sectors.
• Preventative maintenance
• Calibrations (Pressure, Temperature, PH, Conductivity, DO, Flow)
• Electrical Installations
• Fault Finding
• Lock Out Tag Outs (LOTO) while also assisting with LOTO verifications
• ATEX inspections (Preventative Maintenance)

• During my time that I have spent with PepsiCo, I have gained great experience in both electrical and instrumentation, covering all aspects of the trade and dealing with different scenarios every day. I have also been involved in automation, particularly PLC's, Which has helped massively in relation to my work on a daily basis especially with how heavily automated my workplace is.
• Everyday I work under strict health and safety regulations along with tight timelines to ensure the plant runs as safe and efficiently as possible, minimising downtime.
• Recently in October 2024, I took part in a F.A.T test in Germany, representing the maintenance electrical team on a new project consisting of 2 new filling machines. This involved pre inspections, snag listing, and equipment verification to ensure the machines were fit for purpose before they arrived in Little Island. I gained great experience electrically from this trip as well as the involvement in the project side of the industry.

Position – General Operative and Electricians Mate

Areas of Responsibility
• Installation of cables, cleating and tie wrapping cables
• Glanding of cables (NYMJ and S.W.A.)
• Tagging cables
• Cutting and drilling cable tray, rack and unistrut
• Routine housekeeping of workspace to keep in line with “Tidy as we go” policy
• Stock take for materials and ensuring adequate levels of consumable items
