1)Startegic planner - The strategic planner I developed was made to help our team visualize each projects timeline and its key deliverables. This allowed for us to see if there was any clashes in activities and where resources would be required for work at what time, which reduced project risk as it ensured resource availability.
2)Progress Tracker - As the HOPP team was involved in many projects and in hand many meetings for each project, I developed a progress tracker. This progress tracker listed each project and any actions from meetings belonging to the project. This allowed for our team to keep on top of any tasks we committed to in a project. I would update the tracker every 2 weeks before our team had our catchup, In updating the tracker I had to ensure if actions belonging to each project were high, low or medium priority.
3)Budget Estimate Tracker- Due to the vast amounts of budget estimates the HOPP team was involved in, I developed a budget estimate tracker to keep track of each budget and how the estimate compared to the actual spend. Within Irish Rail the year is split into 13 periods, at the end of each period I would meet with our accountant and update the period costs on the tracker, while also updating the year to date column which helped keep track on the actual spend on a project.
1) Galway Station Redevelopment - The overall project objective for Galway is to update the station from a 2 track station to a 5 track station, increasing frequency of trains. My role within this project was to prepare the application for safety approval for 2 enabling work packages, the removal of the slab track within the station and the removal of tank siding. To prepare an application for safety approval I had to prepare a risk hazard assessment, I then submitted the risk hazard and the relevant documents to each share holder within the project for approval. Once approved the documents were filed and the enabling works could commence.
2)CACR- CACR is split into 3 work packages(WP), WP1 the redevelopment of Kent station, WP2 the resignalling of the line and WP3 Glounthaune to Midleton Twin Track(GMTT). The goal of WP3 is to double the track between Glounthaune and Midleton as there is currently only a single track between the two. I personally played a large part in this project as I developed a line chart on Microsoft Excel to clearly illustrate the project goal. The line chart is split into 3 sections, section 1 the existing track and infrastructure as it is today, Section 2 the proposed works and Section 3 the final layout of the track. It was important for me to have very acurate locations of the Signalling infrastructure such as signals, axel counters and location cases, as some of these infrastructure required relocation as they are currently in the proposed layout of the new track. To get accurate data I participated in numerous site visits and used irish Rails accurate IAMS Viewer. My line chart got very high praise and was adopted by Mott Macdonald, the lead contractor on the project, to help create their construction strategy and design.
