Full time CNM2 post in Night Duty, reporting directly to the ADON Night Duty. Implementation of Quality and Standards working with day staff.

Care, treatment and discharge planning.

Documentation standards including Mental Health Commission forms and internal SPH forms.

Medication administration.

• Oversaw admissions and discharges and scheduling of nursing staff.

Advanced Cardiac LIfe Support (ACLS) responder throughout the hospital.

Restraint instructor

Emergency response for restraint, violence and aggression on all wards.

Extensive Acting Up as ADON where needed.

• Registered Nurse 2 in the admissions service on the Kenepuru/Porirua campus. Emergency responder (medical and restraint) for the campus including the secure forensic and medium security facilities.
• Broad range of responsibilities for care and treatment in the Special Care Unit and the main admission ward for patients. Responsibility for nursing input for the multidisciplinary team, care planning, discharge planning and integration to the community services.
• Responsibility for legal reporting and preparation of legal reports to the state mental health authorities and for legal hearings.
• Point of contact with the Ministry of Defene (MOD) for President Clinton visit to NZ (Risk planning for the Wellington cohort of patients)
• Responsibility to the Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT) during and after hours within the broader Wellington and west Coast Area.
• Patient transport throughout New Zealand including repatriation of patients to other services in New Zealand.

• Staff Nurse in various settings in St Patrick's Hospital and the Psychiatric Unit in St James Hospital, Dublin 8.
• Acting up in mostly acute settings during this time as a staff nurse.
• Directed patient care by initiating and following through with plan of care, continuing care, and discharge instructions.
• Educated patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process, and management and lifestyle options.

• Broad experience in a variety of settings within the St Patrick's Hospital and in the St James Hospital campus during nurse training.
