Work History

Graduate Programme

Gas Networks Ireland
Cork
09.2023 - Current
  • The graduate programme at Gas Networks Ireland is 2 years in duration and consists of three rotations which are 8 months long.
  • In my first rotation I worked in IT Service Management. My main tasks here were running the fortnightly CAB meeting. In this meeting, IT changes are approved or rejected, and it was my responsibility to ensure these changes were properly documented and presented in a way that everyone in the meeting could understand them. Further day to day tasks included managing communication processes via the service desk for outages and advisories and managing individual user escalations via the business and via the service desk.
  • My second rotation was in the Data Competency Centre (DCC). Here, I worked with two teams: the Infosec team and the Data Governance team. With the Infosec team, my tasks included monitoring phishing emails that were reported every day to check if they were safe or contained malware or suspicious links. I was also tasked with sending communications to the business regarding cyber security awareness. I was also involved with ensuring that every user in the business was up to date with their ISDP (Information Security & Data Protection) training.
  • My third rotation is in IT applications.

  • Testing the quality of milk samples coming into the creamery every day from local farmers and contacting them to discuss results of the tests I carried out.
  • Demonstrating hard working enthusiasm and teamwork skills while working a 9-hour shift basis – both days and nights as a team and alone working and continually meeting the needs and requirements of co-op members in proactive and diligent manner
