  • During my time with 20/20, I worked with aluminium, steel and glass
  • One of my duties for the company was fabricating and fitting flashings
  • I also fitted sills for large curtain wall screens along with general labouring on site
  • My work involved a lot of heavy lifting including the moving of large panels of laminate glass
  • Another responsibility of mine was fitting steel and aluminium frames for large screens of curtain wall
  • I also gained experience working at heights via the use of MEWPS
  • This developed my teamworking abilities due to the large number of employees on this project
  • This period of employment took place on a large project run by BAM, located in Horgan's Quay, Cork City

NextGen Facades ltd.
  • My work with NextGen Facades was based in a very productive factory and consisted of assembling aluminium window sashes, assembling all parts of curtain wall screens and then packing them for shipment to sites in the Uk
  • From working with NextGen Facades I gained the ability to interpret drawings and the ability to identify flaws and faults as a result of this
  • I also developed my teamworking and communication skills as this job was very interactive, weather it was between upper management and engineers, CNC operators or other general operatives, communication and teamwork was essential

McCrory Access Ltd

  • My Work with McCrory’s was based in a busy Sisk Construction site in University Hospital Limerick
  • My duties consisted of organising equipment for jobs to assist scaffolders on site
  • I was also responsible for removing gear from the site that was left behind after alterations ect was completed to scaffolding
  • During my time with McCrory Access Ltd I gained great knowledge into the safety regulations and regulations of scaffolding systems and health and safety of the construction industry as a whole as this project had a great team of safety officers which enforced said rules and regulations
  • This was essential as it was a busy and high risk site
  • During my work with McCrory’s my communication skills prospered as high levels of communication between engineers, management and other contractors on site was essential

  • While I am expected to complete my leaving certificate examinations in June of 2025, I have been employed part-time at The Bridge House Bar in Mallow for close to two years
  • This can be a very hectic and popular venues for clientele of all ages and tends to be a very fast paced work environment where customer service, quality assurance, team work and communication are key to operating smoothly
  • I enjoy my work here as It is very social, but it can also be tough at times when trying to deal with inconveniences in the Bar
  • This is when team work and communication between bar staff and management is crucial in solving such problems
  • As a result of my work in The Bridge House Bar my communication and social skills have excelled
