Work History

Operations Manager

  • Manage the Programme of Works for TLI Group on the SEAI Warmer Homes Project. Completing the Deep Retrofit of nearly 400 homes a year.
  • Duties include resourcing the project, reporting financial performance of the project and the day to day running of the project.
  • Act as the point of contact for the Client, SEAI. Ensuring all variations from design are communicated and approved for work to be done on site.
  • I have recently transitioned the project to an ArcGis system to to have all surveys, records and variations processed online to increase the annual output of houses.

Project Coordinator

As the Project Coordinator on the NBI Project in TLI Group I lead the Planning Team, working to bring the Build from Design to Handover. I also worked as TLI's Point of contact for the Client, working with them to develop Programmes that satisfy both TLI's resources & the department's handovers.

  • Lead the Planning Team of six planner, who manage deployment areas from design stage to Handover. We liaise with the Client, TLI's Civils, Fibre, Splicing & Quality Departments to ensure the Build is completed on time & to NBI's Scope.
  • I developed the Yearly programme of works, scheduling all crews on the project and allocating resources to ensure that TLI's resources are maximised, while also meeting NBI's agreed handover dates with the government.
  • I was the Clients point of contact for design changes which were agreed within the necessary controls & actioned by my team. We were also responsible for handovers to NBI, which on a government project had to be extremely detailed and thorough.
  • Safety on the project was a major issue with crews using Temporary TM on busy roads. Briefing and implementing safety practices were also my responsibility.
  • I was responsible for liaising with NBI & Irish Rail to develop Rail RAMs & TM plans, for works on live rail networks.

Senior Fibre Planner

  • As a Senior Fibre Planner I am Leading the Build of the NBP Fibre Optic build across multiple towns, from the Design, Planning, Build and Delivery stages of the project. I work our in house Civils, Tree Trimming, Fibre and Splicing Crews to ensure all aspects of the build are completed on time and to scope.
  • Acting as a point of Contact for the client NBI, relaying any design, scheduling or cost variances back to the client. Working closely with NBI, the design partners and our various in house teams to make sure the network is built to scope and to the highest quality.
  • Leading Our team of Junior Fibre Planners and Designers to ensure all of the various aspects of planning the build is ready before commencing construction.
  • I Compile Final Handover documents and accounts for the Client after each stage of the Project is Handed Over. This means keeping account of materials, costs and timelines of fine details and reporting all information back to the client after each area is built

Site Engineer/ Site Agent

  • With GMC Utilities I worked on behalf of National Broadband
    Ireland on their National Fiber Optic roll out. This project aimed
    to bring High speed fiber optic WiFi to 544'000 premises in
    Ireland.
  • My role involved working with the design team to ensure that all
    work carried out was done according to design and met all
    controls in place. This meant working as part of a diverse team,
    including the design team, project leaders and Civil crews.
  • I was also responsible for ensuring the project was carried out on
    time and to the scope. It was also important to ensure all
    necessary safety measures and practices were in place for the
    project to run safely.
  • As a Site Agent with GMC Utilities I was responsible for managing the Civil Engineering crews working on the NBI Fibre Optic Roll out. I was responsible for assigning work to the crews, ensuring all work was done to the appropriate standards and recording & validating work for payment.
  • Ensuring all work was done to the appropriate standard was a huge part of my role and something I took great pride in. I was the point of contact between my company and the subcontractors so maintaining a good relationship and communication was key in my role.
  • As a Site Agent I was also responsible for reporting and discrepancies in the work assignments to the many stakeholders in the project, communication and good relationships were key due to the large number of stakeholders in the project.
