Summary

I am a Construction Manager with 13years’ experience at Laing O’Rourke / Expanded Structures and 22 years’ experience in the construction industry. As a Laing O’Rourke employee and working as a Construction Manager, I am pro-active and committed to safety for myself and all of the workforce/staff that are on-site. I have an active input to various Method Statements, Task Sheets, and Daily Activity Briefings ensuring that I set an example on-site to encourage 100% compliance to all the relevant Procedures and Method Statements. In addition to these, a zero tolerance approach towards shortcuts, unsafe practices, and excuses, as well as a ‘don’t walk by’ mentality and constant hazard / near miss reporting will help to achieve the reduction of incidents and injuries on-site. As a Construction Manager, I am responsible for supervising the site teams and providing leadership, guidance, and support to the whole team. On recent projects, I have worked on a variety of schemes which include elements such as drainage, pre-cast erection, piling, external works, lifting operations, and temporary works. During construction, I am responsible for the production and briefing of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Task Sheets. I am also responsible for the constant monitoring of workmanship, quality, inspection, and testing. I implement this through the use of more than 22 years of previous project experience. I assist in the production of programs for weekly planned works, procures materials and plant, and disseminates information to Engineers, Foremen, Operatives, and Sub-Contractors. I review design information to ensure it is relevant and buildable, raising queries and providing solutions where possible and helping determine the best solution to problems. In addition, I have completed various safety and management courses such as first aid at work, CPCS, CSCS, IOSH, SSSTS, and SMSTS.
