I have established and run a wound care clinic in the area to treat patients and I also liaise with Nursing Homes and GP practices to provide wound care assessment and advice for their patients. I am also a member of the Community Care Product User Group and the Chairperson/Clinical Lead for the Dublin Mid Leinster/Dublin North East Wound Care Product Evaluation Team. I have also been involved in working groups for the development of wound care educational programme.
On the community I work as part of a multidisciplinary team, to meet the needs of our clients in their homes. This involves wound care, support, education, basic nursing care, and family involvement. I also participated in the Meningitis C programme, as a vaccinator and as a coordinator, I have vaccinated on school teams and as part of theH1N1 programme as a vaccinator, anaphlaxitc nurse and co ordinator.
I staffed on an acute surgical ward. While here I carried out the duties of a staff nurse, which included managing a twenty-seven bedded ward. I also represented the ward on the Wound Care Committee.
