  • On a daily basis I collaborate with various healthcare professionals in both community and hospital settings in order to provide optimal patient care. This includes providing dosage and formulation queries for those with restricted swallowing or PEG fed.
  • I oversee work activities, performance and service quality of pharmacy staff in a busy dispensary environment. Currently we dispense circa 8,000 items per month including two nursing homes.
  • Day to day I enhance patient care by providing accurate medication information and advice so as to promote patients medication adherence. As an example I counsel the patient on possible side effects and /or interactions of newly prescribed medications.
  • Throughout my years of experience I have learned to manage stock effectively which encompasses the preventing of shortages of key medications which proves difficult in today's medication procurement environment
  • Kept accurate records of all dispensed items, adhering strictly to legal requirements as outlined by the PSI.
  • Undertook regular continuing professional development activities to maintain high professional standards. I have achieved these by attending courses and also in practice learning is an invaluable asset to me.

  • Throughout the year I shadowed senior team members to develop practical knowledge and gain critical industry-specific skills over various departments in the hospital including oncology and care of the elderly.
  • Towards the latter end of my pre reg year I performed ward rounds to take patient drug histories and collect up-to-date relevant information. I achieved this by discussing medications with patients and also contacting relevant GP surgeries and /or pharmacies to collaborate this information
  • During this year I carried out a clinical audit on the follow up admiration of Prolia for patients who had received their first dose in a hospital setting. This was a highly successful audit which referenced in an article composed by Amgen.
