Within this course, I worked on web application security, penetration testing, log analysis and digital forensics to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities effectively. • Web Vulnerability Scanner – Python tool, Built a Python web and network vulnerability scanner that takes a user defined URL (with explicit instructions to run on websites made for testing and education) and port number range, to provide automated tests for SQL Injection and Payload injection., The port scanner takes a user defined URL and checks a network for any open ports and the option of testing for TCP or UDP protocols, the state and service of the port is displayed. This is useful for Pen Testing.
• Secure Python Web Application – Defensive Coding Project, Created a Flask Web App, with Input validation and sanitization, output encoding, SQL Injection prevention, XSS prevention with Secure session management and encryption for sensitive files and hashing passwords., Mapped design to OWASP Standards and secure development practices. Used Bcrypt, WTForms, SQLAlchemy, Jinja2, Fernet symmetric encryption and implemented secure HTTPS headers.
• Digital Forensics Case Investigation, Used FTK Imager, Autopsy, and hashing tools to conduct forensic investigations., Evidence acquisition & chain of custody with File system analysis and Keyword searches & timeline reconstruction. Generated reports based on evidence and logs., Identified artefacts relevant to insider threat and potential data exfiltration.
