Research

  • Meta analysis about sodium glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/363184654_Sodium-Glucose_Cotransporter_2_Inhibitors_in_Heart_Failure_with_Preserved_Ejection_Fraction_A_Meta-_Analysis)

- This study aimed at investigating effects of SGLT2 inhibitors  on HFpEF  patients  including  the  primary  and  secondary outcomes  of this  therapy.

- The study concluded that overall SGL2 inhibitors can significantly reduce all heart failure related hospitalization and urgent hospitalizations specifically in HFpEF patients.

  • Social experiences of people living with Parkinson’s disease in Ireland: A qualitative study

-Worked as a research assistant in my first year of medical school helping with the entering of data into data analysis software

  • The effects of renal denervation in patients with resistant hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus: A systematic review and meta-analysis

- I completed this study under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Abdulla who is a senior professor in the physiology department in university college cork.

-Renal denervation for resistant hypertension over the years has grown a potential avenue of treatment in particular in patients who also have diabetes. Since hypertension is even harder to control in diabetic patients RDN can prove to be a very impactful method of treatment in this subset of patients

- Study found significant impact of RDN in reducing office and ambulatory systolic and diastolic blood pressures up to a year of follow-up
