Summary
I am a final-year student teacher of Biology and Agricultural Science at the University of Limerick, currently completing my Initial Teacher Education. Through two professional school placements, most recently at Sacred Heart Secondary School in Clonakilty and previously at Colaiste na Toirbhirte, I have gained extensive experience delivering Junior Cycle Science and also Biology, and Agricultural Science across a range of year groups including transition year and leaving cert level. I have planned and prepared up to 14 lessons per week, developing detailed lesson plans, creating engaging teaching resources, and organising laboratory experiments to support active, inquiry-based learning. These experiences have strengthened my ability to manage classrooms effectively, differentiate for diverse learning needs, and deliver structured, student-centred lessons.
