  • Meitheal Mara is an organization that provides outdoor therapy through their boat building programs. They also offer the Badoireacht program, which is a UBU-funded program that provides rowing opportunities in Currachs to inner city youths and adults from organizations such as Cope Foundation, Foróige, Garda Youth Diversion, and Pieta House, among others.
  • In addition to team-based assignments such as launching and recovering boats, I was also responsible for several other tasks, namely boat painting, a weekly cleanup of the River Lee using grappling hooks to retrieve trolley cones, bicycles, and other miscellaneous items. I was also charged with organizing, storing, cleaning, and conducting monthly counts of the buoyancy equipment, while the store room served as my unofficial office.
