At present I work as part of a Matrix Team. As a result of this, I have a lot of experience in working as part of a high-functioning team with parallel initiatives and competing priorities. Some of my responsibilities to date have included:
Managing Pharmacist Registration Process for all incoming EU and National pharmacists.
My responsibilities included:
- Compiling and analysing applications from pharmacists wishing to register with the PSI.
- Understanding how Irish and European legislation affects a pharmacists right to work in Ireland.
- Improving website accessibility and user experience by updating content to be more comprehensive and accessible.
- Responding to queries from applicants, on average 30+ queries a week with tight turnaround times.
- Reviewing applications and preparing them for sign off by the Registrar.
Supporting Registrant and Customer Relations Manager in introduction of Registrant and Customer Relations Team matrix, including:
- Working as part of the matrix team, assisting, and advising team members when additional support is needed.
- Organising and attending meetings
- Monitoring and responding to unit emails
- Document management, including updating and streamlining SOPS.
Managing ePortfolio Review Process - this is a process whereby a cohort of pharmacists are called for CPD review on an annual basis.
My responsibilities included:
- Collating list of 1200 registrants to be called for ePortfolio Review.
- Supporting registrants through the extenuating circumstances process including:
- Managing difficult and sensitive conversations with registrants and ensuring the highest level of confidentiality is maintained.
- Managing non-engager process for ePortfolio Review, approx. 40 per year.
This involved:.
- Review and implementation of non-engager mediation policy.
- Facilitating and coordinating meetings.
- Preparing reports for the Registrar in relation to Registrants that do not engage with the ePortfolio review mediation process.
- Preparing files for the complaint process.
Other aspects of my role have included:
- Providing online training and support to all PSI staff in use of Microsoft Teams as part of a series of IT clinics.
- Chairperson of the Workplace Wellbeing Group, organising wellbeing events and fundraisers for PSI staff.
- Member of the PSI's ‘buddy scheme', providing guidance and support to new starters to help them settle into their role.
