Lúcas Goodman- Ó Snodaigh

When there are book launches, publisher events or author's talks for Coiscéim I help with moving stock, setting up the sales stands and banners, welcoming guests, and selling the books using the sum-up machine.

• Assisted customers in selecting products, offering detailed advice to meet their needs.
• Kept shelves neat, clean and organised through visual merchandising.
• Handled customer enquiries, providing prompt responses to questions about products and services.

• When SMARTlab has VR demonstrations to do at big events or special lectures, I assist with fitting the headsets, recalibrating the VR experiences, and showing people how to use VR effectively. I trained in this at SMARTlab and the Innovation Academy prior to teaching others.

I am currently in TY. My top subjects are Maths, Graphtec, English and Irish. I am interested in studying Creative Technology or Architecture, or a related field, at UCD when I graduate. I have done several work experience internships and have also done volunteer work this year, and now I am keen to get a part-time job of my own. My skills include good customer service with a smile, salesmanship, and heavy lifting. I am reliable and hard-working and very trustworthy.

• I did the official Raiders scorekeeper training and now I attend matches some weekends to do the scoring for other teams, when my own team isn't playing. I also try to help out the coaches.

• Basketball is my favourite sport. I have played for the Dublin Raiders for years, and will keep playing for as long as possible. Previously, I played for the Bray Bullets, but when that team shut down, I moved to the Raiders, and I have never looked back. I also do private elite training at ALSAA most weeks, sometimes twice a week. I love it.

• I occasionally sing backing vocals and contribute to the recordings of new music for my father's band, Klla. My voice is included on several Klas albums.

• I helped the Studio Production Manager to set up for a major film and interactive media event, supporting the staff and also the actors and musicians with set-up, carrying instruments and equipment, registering audience members and helping with clean up and reset the equipmetn. While there I also did a tour of the major sound stages and learned about the in-camera 3d production techniques, and about motion capture and virtual production.

• I worked mainly in the back stock room unpacking donated clothes and preparing them for sale, as well as helping the manager with lifting and carrying, labelling and welcoming customers.

• I shadowed the CEO of the game studio, learning about game production and the work involved in running a small company. I learned the basics of how a game studio tries to distinguish itself with new stories and titles and its own artistic style. I also learned how to develop game concepts for Fortnite and other major titles.

• I attended a two day intensive introduction to Generative AI and tested different AI tools and platforms. I then did an assignment to solve some questions with a specific new AI by the company.

• The SMARTlab creative technology institute at UCD was commissioned to create a new augmented comic book and interactive screen version, with the voices of the characters recorded in Irish. I was one of the actors and also sang for the title song. The European Commission approved the production.

• I love music. I love singing. I studied voice, keyboards, guitar and ukelele for many years until my favourite teachers all moved away. Now I write my own songs with friends.
