I am someone who always puts 100% into what I do, I always try my best and put the needs of others above my own. While I was in my last year at Mahurangi College I was Head Girl which involved many tasks that I had to handle alongside school work, my job and firefighting. In year 12, I was captain of the first 11 girls hockey team and took responsibility for looking after my teammates and leading them to work as a team to get the best outcome. I am always up to learning new skills and take the advice of others into consideration. I also gained a scholarship for AUT in my last year of College for leadership and community service.
I worked full time on the road in Rodney on green watch as a EMT from May 2023 till August 2024. In August 2024 I passed my paramedic internship. Beforehand I was working as a causal and events volunteer.
-Assisted client with daily living needs, including bathing and personal grooming, to maintain self-esteem and general wellness. Also assisted client with eating and cooking food for them.
- Offered social support by transporting individual to events and activities, in addition to medical appointments and shopping trips.

Volunteer Firefighter, Mahurangi East Fire Station, Auckland
06/2017 - Present
I have now been a volunteer firefighter for 8 years and I am not looking at stopping. We attend fires, crashes, trees down, floods, and lots of medicals. We also install smoke detectors for those that do not know how to install them themselves or those who can't install them themselves. We train every Tuesday night and every third week I am on duty where which involves cleaning station, truck and sorting out of gear. This is done on a Sunday morning. We do over 200 call outs a year and this number is going to continue increasing. I am able to take in knowledge and skills that I have learned through my degree, and while working on the road as an paramedic, and apply this to every patient in order for them go get the necessary care or interventions they need for the best outcome.
