I’m a friendly and reliable 16‑year‑old looking for my first job. I’m eager to learn new skills, work as part of a team, and gain real work experience. I'm punctual, have a positive attitude, and I enjoy helping people.
During my TY year I did one days work experience per week. For the second half of TY my work experience was based in O' Connells Boys School. I spent most of my time supporting the teacher who works in the 'Nurture room'.
The Nurture room is a special needs classroom where students with different needs can spend time when they need a break from the learning classroom. During my time in the Nurture room I had 1 on 1 sessions with boys who have ADHD, Autism and other similar needs. I really enjoyed my time working with these students. Other tasks I did during my work experience included;
I completed one week with the Cairn Homes PLC work experience programme in February 2026. This week was so interesting as we got to spend time with all the different functions in the business including Sustainability, Planning, Construction, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources and Business Development. We also got to spend two days out on site where we got tours of the site from the Quantity Surveyors and Health and Safety Manager, and got to see the construction work happening in real time. We also learned all about Health & Safety on a construction site and how they control the sites to keep the workers safe. It was a brilliant week!
During my TY year I did one days work experience per week. For the first half of TY my work experience was based in Irish Rail. During my work experience with Irish Rail I spent time in the station offices on the Dart line. Some of the tasks I did during this work experience block were;
