Work History

Hydraulic Structure Engineer

Hydrodesign Project LLC
UB
12.2019 - 01.2024

1. Flood Protection Infrastructure and Stormwater Drainage Design – Sukhbaatar Town, Selenge Province.

  • Scope: Designed a 14 km flood protection channel and embankment system, including 3 main dams, 3 silt retention dams, 26 pedestrian crossings, and 10 vehicular crossings. Integrated a 5 km stormwater drainage network.
  • Role: Conducted hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for channel and embankment geometry; performed field surveys and data collection; produced detailed design drawings in AutoCAD (plan layout, longitudinal, and cross-sections); calculated quantities and prepared design documentation under the supervision of the lead engineer.
  • Impact: Reduced flood risk for over 20,000 residents across 45 km² in Sukhbaatar Town.
  • Budget: MNT 22 billion.

2. Flood Protection Channel Design – Morin Davaa, Ulaanbaatar.

  • Scope: Designed a 900 m reinforced concrete-lined channel (0.7 m depth, m = 1.5 side slope, 1 m bottom width) with a 15 m drop structure, 4 roadway crossings, and approximately 9,000 m³ of earthworks.
  • Role: Independently executed the full design process, including calculations, drawings using AutoCAD, quantity estimation, and earthworks in Civil 3D; coordinated with municipal authorities for design approval; obtained expert review sign-off; and delivered the final package to the client.
  • Impact: Enabled the immediate commencement of construction (Phase 2), where I also supervised the installation.
  • Budget: approximately MNT 1 billion.

3. Flood Protection Channels – Shine Zuunmod City, Initial Phase.

  • Scope: Planned four open flood channels (reinforced concrete and gabion structures) to protect the new airport and future urban expansion area.
  • Role: Led sections 1, 2, and 4 design; calculated discharges (Q = 35.88 m³/s, Q = 19.07 m³/s, Q = 20.0 m³/s); managed design team tasks; coordinated alignments and structural solutions; directly designed Section 4, adapting a gabion channel and embankment to local environmental conditions.
  • Impact: Provided key infrastructure to safeguard a strategic development zone.
  • Budget: Exceeded MNT 50 billion.

4. Tuul River Flood Protection Rehabilitation and New Works – Ulaanbaatar.

  • Scope: Included earthworks, embankment stabilization with precast concrete slabs, cycle path construction, water outlet structures, demolition, and reconstruction.
  • Role and Impact: Served as project manager and design lead, overseeing technical solutions and team output.
  • Budget: approximately MNT 24 billion.

5. Stormwater drainage network designs.

Burgastai Border Port Expansion – Stormwater Drainage Design Led the design of the stormwater drainage system for the newly constructed road within the border port expansion and renovation project, ensuring efficient water runoff management, and compliance with engineering standards.

6. Irrigation system design.

Developed irrigation system designs (CS-16 and CS-20), funded by the Asian Development Bank, focusing on hydraulic layouts, cost estimation, sustainability, and supported documentation in English, also detailing the design of the irrigation system based on crop type for cultivation.

7. Provincial, ger district, external water supply pipeline design.

Designed and implemented a central water supply connection for a rural area town, fully resolving both potable water and wastewater issues for the local community. Responsibilities included determining pipeline diameter, gradient, length, and manhole locations; producing plan layouts and longitudinal sections; and calculating excavation and fill volumes using Civil 3D, delivering the complete design package within a short timeframe.

8. Master plan for municipal engineering preparatory works.

Conducted a comprehensive data analysis of all water-related structures across the capital city, assessing capacity, operational performance, and maintenance needs. Presented findings to the Mayor’s Office to support critical engineering preparedness measures. Responsibilities included data analysis, field surveys, risk assessments, comparative evaluations, and research into new technologies for potential implementation.

Junior CAD Technician

Tuvshinjin LLC
Ulaanbaatar
06.2018 - 12.2019
  • Reviewed the condition of pipelines after construction, and compared them with the original design plans, making necessary revisions to the technical drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Oversaw and reviewed the design of internal water supply systems to ensure compliance with technical standards and project requirements.
  • Prepared external water supply pipeline drawings in AutoCAD under the guidance of the senior engineer.
