Rotation 1 - Future Networks & Strategic Offshore Planning (CTTO)

• I was a member of the Network Design Team.
• Managed the post-processing of data from the report Tomorrow's Energy Scenarios 23 (TES 23) for system modelling for the System Needs Assessment report (TESNA).
• TESNA is an investigation into the effect of a Net Zero Power System on the current All-Island Network. (CTTO Business Target)
• Involved in the development of an All-Island Network Model using PSSE and Plexos software for analysis as part of TESNA.
• Created data visualisation mechanisms to illustrate significant changes in TESNA on Tableau.

Rotation 2 – System Operations (COO)

• I was a member of the Readiness team.
• Primarily involved in monitoring, upgrading, and testing tools used in the National Control Centre to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the All-Island transmission system. Testing was completed both remotely and in the NCC.
• Developed test scripts to complete the upgrade of National Grid's Electronic Dispatch Logger (EDL) to the Interconnector Management Platform (ICMP). Tested the EDL functionality from the perspective of the National Control Centre, ensuring functions worked as defined in the technical specification and app design documents.
• Monitoring Dynamic Line rating. Working with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve any issues encountered.
• Implemented new DLR projects in the Energy Management System.
• Involved in the development of DLR Phase 2, incorporating DLR into more tools in the NCC.
• Supported the completion of the Energy Management System upgrade. (COO Business Target). This entailed completing system testing in the National Control Centre.

Rotation 3 – Asset Management (CIO)

• I am a member of the Regions sub-team in Asset Management.
• Day-to-day maintenance queries for the North & Central Region.
• Resolving Forced Outages on the system.
• Completing Station & Risk Assessments for EirGrid Capital Projects.
• Completing updates to the Asset Management database.

• During my Co-op placement, I was part of the Manufacturing Department and reported to the Principal Manufacturing Engineer.
• Completed surveillance studies to ensure all manufactured nebulisers complied with regulatory standards.
• Entailed setting up test equipment, carrying out the relevant examinations, gathering data, and then analysing that data on Excel.

• Reported to the Principal Engineer in Product Development for the Lotus Valve.
• Worked as a member of the Product Development Team for Lotus Valve.
• Completed trial experiments for my supervisor in the various laboratories and cleanrooms.
• Performed various scans on the Computed Tomography (CT) machine as part of the trials.
