I am an Irish medical student entering my final year, hoping to further my education by completing my 4 week elective placement in a US Hospital. With a solid foundation built over four years of rigorous academic study and two years of hands-on clinical placement, I have honed my practical skills in a variety of clinical settings. Throughout my medical education, I have achieved First-Class Honors in the majority of my examinations, particularly excelling in my Clinical Practice exams, where I demonstrated strong diagnostic reasoning and patient care abilities.
This clerkship represents a unique opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and experience within the U.S. healthcare system, working alongside dedicated professionals and contributing to a diverse clinical team. I am particularly interested in broadening my exposure to new medical practices and patient populations, while deepening my understanding of healthcare delivery in a different cultural and medical environment. I am confident that this elective would provide invaluable insights that will benefit both my medical career and the patients I will serve in the future.
