I have worked as a classroom teacher, an EAL teacher and a Special Education Teacher. My background in psychology coupled with my teaching experience makes my classroom an interactive environment. I have taught children from different religious, cultural and social backgrounds. I am also passionate about my love of music and I enjoy passing on my love of Irish music to all the children I teach. I have taught many students the tin-whistle and I was a member of the Donegal Youth Orchestra for many years. I engage all pupils regardless of ability or disability and I make learning as fun and as practical as I can for pupils. I enjoy using computers and music as a tool for learning. I have worked as a classroom teacher in all year groups. My teaching council number is 114215 and I have full registration.
I worked as both a classroom teacher and a SET teacher. I worked closely with support staff and classroom teachers. I used assessment strategies that accurately measured student understanding.
I worked in five different schools. I taught mostly in 5th and 6th classrooms and I collaborated with the class teacher and took notes and helped with the planning. I provided feedback and listened to the class teachers recommendations.
I taught in 3rd class and I subbed in other classes also. I worked alongside other teachers and I built positive relationships with parents. I worked alongside other professionals to help students in my classroom.
I taught in a second and third class. I enjoyed working alongside others and I have implemented into my own teaching different teaching styles and strategies, since observing other teachers in the school. I enjoyed teaching the recorders and the tin-whistle to all the students in my class and I held a weekly recorder lesson for students from third to sixth class.
I worked for over six months in a school as a junior infants teacher. I planned and led activities to develop students’ physical, emotional and social growth. I worked with students and their parents to develop the pupils' numeracy and literacy skills. I worked collaboratively with other teachers and we planned activities and lessons together in our meetings. I also had various experience with middle and upper primary.
