Children's Services Manager

  • From July 2012-Septemebr 2021 managed the Enable Ireland children's clinical services in both Bray and Arklow with approx 300 children and over 25 staff.
  • Led out on the Local Implementation group for Progressing Children's Disability services in Wicklow, chairing the mapping subgroup and then amalgamated in in Dublin South/Wicklow.
  • Led the team in the preparation of the rollout of PDS and in the implementation phase.
  • Led out in the change management process on reconfiguration with over 1500 children and 60 staff.
  • Presented to the National CDNM group on Interdisciplinary Team working as part of their Induction to the role.
  • Presented at the one day Workshop on Family Centred Practice, Partnership with Families through the Family centred plan in 2014 coordinated by National Federation of Voluntary bodies and National Coordinating group for Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People.
  • Developed a number of different initiatives to improve services and decrease wait times for children and their families to access services- extended opening of the hydrotherapy pool in Bray to increase access, outsourcing of diagnostic assessments.
  • Developed the Graduate Recruitment initiative in Wicklow and Dublin to encourage new graduates to work within EI.
  • Managed complaints from parents and staff for improved service user and staff satisfaction.
  • Manage Parliamentary Questions and Rep responses for issue to HSE.
  • Completed a formal investigation process to manage a parent complaint.
  • Managed six Children's Disability Network managers, coaching and supporting them in their roles through individual supervision and structured group meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with Policies and procedures and legislation pertinent to Children's Disability services.
  • Encourage strong team working across disciplines and teams.
  • Clinical and service manager lead in three building projects in Wicklow- Arklow, Bray and CDNT in Arklow through design, building stage and final fit out.
  • Sourced a suitable interim space whilst the Bray building project was ongoing an designed it and service to ensure continuity of service.
  • Manage the Bray building to ensure all H&S systems are in place, ongoing maintenance contracts and any major works are completed as well as grounds maintenance.
  • Worked closely with all the team to ensure strong adherence to risk management.
  • Clinical Governance- developing competencies for key areas of work/practice, ensure all staff have regular supervision.
  • Manage the pay and non pay budget for CDNTs in Dublin and Wicklow and the Administration Budget in Bray.
  • Developed a number of different proposals and business cases for the development of services across Dublin South/Wicklow.

Member of a Board of Management for a  local Primary School. From 2019 to 2023 I was the secretary of the Board and was invited back by the chairperson for a second term.
