Day-to-day needs

• Recorded temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration rate as directed by medical or nursing staff.
• Remained alert to problems or health issues of clients and competently responded.
• Monitored and assisted residents through individual service plans.
• Monitored and maintained cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
• Physical and intimate care; helping those that require assistance.
• Supporting the development of independent living skills & social skills in line with the wishes of the residents.
• Facilitating the residents to use their leisure time tailored to their needs and with an emphasis on community integration. ·
• Promote a home like atmosphere for all residents. · Housekeeping – cooking, shopping, cleaning, looking after each residents’ clothes & personal beloings, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness & tidiness within the residence.

Health and safety needs

• Being aware of and practice the correct use of all aids and appliances e.g. wheelchairs etc.
• Ensuring all accidents/incidents are reported and documented in accident/incident forms as held in each area.
• Making aware of the organisations duties and the employee duties under the Safety, Health and Welfare at work Act
• Reporting faulty equipment and fittings to management
• Ensuring adequate knowledge of emergency actions and plans.
• Ensuring fire and safety precautions are implemented and maintained

Leadership

• Under the direction of the management, I manage, develop and support staff individually and as part of a team including induction, supervisory support and training in line with organisation’s practices as and when required.
• Take an active role in the co-ordination and development of personal plans in order to meet the needs of the people we support.
• Ensuring that staff are aware of and adhere to organisations Policies and Procedures.
• Developing and maintaining effective communication systems both formal and informal with service users, colleagues, families and stakeholders.
• Promoting dignity at work and show respect to service users, colleagues, families and stakeholders in course of duty.
