I am a dedicated worker with a strong foundation in high-volume hospitality and customer service. I am a fast learner and enjoy learning new things. I am skilled in handling customer questions and providing information, as well as payment processing, and fostering positive customer experiences through effective communication and social skills. I am a quick thinker and adept at problem-solving and making decisions under pressure. Currently, I am looking for part-time work while in college, and am available most evenings and throughout the weekend.
I worked as a barista and food server at Angel's Cafe in Rathcormac. Here, I handled cash transactions, communicated with chefs, maintained high-quality customer service, and performed the general upkeep of the restaurant. This role also included both closing and opening shifts. Here I learned how to facilitate an overall enjoyable experience for customers by being attentive and responsive to their needs, while working well with staff.
This work consisted of an all-encompassing engagement in every section of Spar Eastgate deli as follows:
My job at Spar Eastgate involved working between each section of the deli. This is an opening shift where my role is to cook for three hot counters, prepare all fresh bakery produce, serve customers, and do all tray ups and necessary food preparations for the following week. Some Sundays I would do the stock check.
Here, I developed extensive training in cooking, serving, health and safety procedures (i.e. temperature checks and recording produce), and stock checking. This role also included sharing my work duties between the O Flynn’s section and the main deli. Here, my responsibility was to maintain the deli, while working as a server/cook.
I have over 6 months of experience working as a deli assistant. Depending on the day, I would work as a chef, in the fresh bakery section, or closing shifts. For each position, it was of the upmost importance that I served customers as often as possible/when necessary. I have experience doing both opening and closing shifts.
Furthermore, all traceability and other food safety procedures would be followed throughout each shift.
During my transition year work experience, I served food and beverages at the Brooke restaurant in Glanmire, Co. Cork. Here, I cleaned and engaged in the general maintenance and upkeep of the restaurant I learned proper standards of communication, presentation, and health, safety and food hygiene.
I settled any customer disputes in a professional and pleasant manner. I also handled food with sanitation and safety in mind.
Finally, I developed excellent customer service skills.
The duties of this position included washing cars, cleaning the inside of cars, learning the use of chemicals and utilising them accordingly in cleaning procedures. This also involved storing and maintaining these chemicals. As a car valet, I used power washers, hoovers, and various manual tools. I facilitated smooth running of operations through efficient task management. I often took on additional tasks when necessary.
