Emma O'Reardon

I am a young artist who has always had an affinity and love for art and drawing. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember and constantly doodled on any paper I had my hands on, to the dismay of my teachers. Now I am looking to expand my skills and knowledge of the subject that I love towards animation - a media that has always captured my heart and felt like true magic unfolding before my eyes. I want to be a part of that process and have a hand in creating that magic.

• Took part in a 2 week summer course for Animation Portfolio Preparation at IADT.
• Designed the logo for the 'Ringsend and Irishtown TidyTowns Environment' organisation.
• Enrolled in a PLC Portolfio Preparation course with Coláiste Dhúlaigh CDCFE in Raheny.

I've always been drawing since a very young age, it started with fanart for some of my favourite TV shows and games, like Spongebob or Danny Phantom. I've always had a love for animation, even if I never realised it as a child - throughout the years I never grew tired of animated shows and movies and I am glad to see adult-orientated animation becoming more mainstream today.

I constantly had ideas flowing through my head, so much so that, to my teachers' dismay, I would constantly doodle on class work and homework and bring my small sketchbooks into school with me to draw whenever possible. Even though they may not have been objectively good drawings, as I wasn't very skilled at the time, I kept drawing over and over every single day. I didn't realise it until all these years later when I look back on these drawings and see how far I have improved from the constant love for creating that I had.
