I enacted person centred practice to cultivate a relationship with the young service users.
I put into place strengths based perspective to encourage the children that they could achieve anything they wanted to accomplish. One young girl in particular wanted to go to art college. However she believed she couldn't go as her Mother didn't "have any money". However I reassured her that grants and scholarships were available.
I used Brofenbrenner's ecological systems theory as well as trauma informed practice and the Pavlovian conditioning response to understand the difference in my habitas to that of the young service users.
