  • JCI: Shortlisted as a finalist in the Ten Outstanding Young Person Awards in the business, economic and entrepreneurial category and winner in that category
  • Enterprise Ireland Programme: Completed in Limerick 2018 to develop my business idea, we launched October 2019 via Kickstarter
  • Climb for Autism: I raised money for children with autism by completing the Croagh Patrick Challenge. This challenge required participants to climb the 2500 ft Croagh Patrick Mountain 7 days in a row to raise money for those affected by autism.
  • Dissertation: I completed my final year dissertation in September 2011, which aimed to investigate lateralisation-that reflects difference in hemisphere functioning-in processing of facial expressions in adolescents with Asperger's Syndrome in comparison with a control group of typically developing adolescents. It was a computer-based experiment aimed to explore these differences using prototypes from the Ekman and Friesen (1976) series with male and female poser pictures of seven basic emotions in addition to chimeric faces. Mann-Whitney U tests were used to analyse the data. The two groups in the study exhibited lateralisation effects whereby emotions presented in the left visual field (LVF) governed the responses. The dissertation enabled me to work amongst a variety of individuals with different learning capabilities.
