I was duty manager for Bailebeag Creche, Newbury House since 2017. During this time I was responsible for the daily management of the creche. I upheld Tusla compliances and followed Siolta and Aistear standards to achieve maximum success for children, families and staff. I ensured all children's needs and education were catered for. I lead a great team of successful staff and often inviting students in for work experience. Health and safety guidelines and regulations were paramount in my daily routine. I assisted in the development of policies and procedures. Often designing children's individual policy and procedure to cater for their medical or clinical needs. Covid protocols was practiced. I created deep roots in families of the community. Partnerships with parents allowed me to fully get to know each individual child. I provided a home from home for all children. I led yearly Tusla inspections. The last one in 2020 was fully compliant. As the Designated liaison Person, I was accountable on ground of any child welfare concerns. I have filled my years with CPD courses. Always seeking relevant, current and updated information in many areas of early years development. With hard work and dedication, Bailebeag went from a one session of 15 children to up to 30 children in two sessions over two years.
I initially began in Bailebeag Childcare Ltd as a C.E. participant. Within a short time I gained a position of Assistant Supervisor. Before the amalgamation of Bailebeag and Newbury House, I worked alongside my manager and mentor. We were a small service of 11 children in morning sessions only. The greatest achievement of that time was working for two years on Siolta, The National Quality Framework for Early Years Education. We designed and implemented an Aistear Framework Curriculum with Siolta Standards and Components. Bailebeag was awarded full marks of 4 in all categories. It was a quality stamp for Bailebeag. My role was assisting the manager in all areas of a quality service for young children and families in the surrounding community. Our service provided one of the starting premises for Happy Talk in 2013. A Speech and Language Therapy Scheme focused on disadvantaged areas such as the location of Bailebeag. They are now a hugely recognized organization funded by the H.S.E.
I was contacted by Leisureplex and asked to cover maternity leave for a duty manager. I was working part time in Bailebeag. 8.30a.m. to 1.00p.m, Monday to Friday. Leisureplex worked my shifts around my priority position in Bailebeag.
I was responsible for opening and closing Leisureplex. My duties included safe deposits, bookings and the overall general running of the centre.
I was employed on a part-time basis for a child with special needs in a preschool setting. My duties involved assisting this child in all areas of development, where needed. In particular, the social and emotional regulating aspect of this child. Part of my daily routine was to assist this child with interactions with peers and find different strategies to help him cope with the routine of the day. I blended excellent with the team and all children in this Naionrai.
During this year, I also worked part-time in a busy creche. The Centre caters for both full time day care and morning and afternoon preschool. My duties involved assisting the supervisor in daily routines including feeding times. Throughout my time in the preschool, I was involved in the children's daily activities such as play and recreation.
I was employed as a Special Needs Assistant in this Primary School for almost 5 years. My responsibilities varied according to the needs of the particular child in my care in different times throughout different years. Duties involved aiding and supervising each childs class work to promote confidence to the child and provide the class teacher ease to adhere to the busy classroom schedule. Yard duties was part of my role. Accompanying children on extracurricular classes and activities was a major element of my responsibilities. I was also responsible in the dispensing and supervision of medicines and injections of a child with Diabetes.
During my time at Leisureplex. Scheduled and confirmed bookings. Answered and directed incoming calls using multi-line telephone system. Dealt with large group bookings for bowling and Quasar. Worked on the Bowling lanes computer systems and the cash tills for payments.
My daughter was born in July of 2000. I made a choice to be a stay at home mom for her first year. I was a dedicated mother and homemaker to my first born.
After my Leaving Cert in 1997, I started a part time job in Abrakebabra on St Patrick Street, Cork. I began as a counter assistant. Responsible for taking food orders and working on the grills. Within 8 months I was promoted to Supervisor. My role and responsibilities included staff rosters, end of shift cash counting and deposits, stock taking and ordering. Delivered top quality customer service in professional manner while managing multiple tasks. Maintained dining and food service areas to maximize safety and cleanliness.
