I have been specialist trained in General Practice since 1987, working as a principal in practice in Bray, Co Wicklow, since 1989. My practice has been urban and rural both private and G.M.S. patients. My out of hours commitment has been based in St Columcilles Hospital ,Dublin. I have provided care to the Bray women's refuge . I was elected President of the Bray Clinical Society in 1996 and have contributed to the education of undergraduate medical students.
I have volunteered as medical advisor at sporting events.
I qualified as an Occupational Physician in 1996 providing healthcare and advice to a variety of clients.
I have been providing medicolegal ( for defendants and plaintiffs), insurance and P.I.A.B reports for many years.
I am on the HSE interview board for appointing GPs to the G.M.S.
I maintain continuous professional development with the Irish College of General Practitioners.
In writing reports I aim to produce a report that is free standing, independent and objective.
Recently I opted to retire from full time general practice to concentrate on medico legal, insurance and some Occupational Medicine work.I have 30 years of knowledge, skills and experience of a self employed General Practitioner. I am up to date with guidance and protocols and continuous professional development. Being an expert is not only crucial to the legal process but it is intellectually challenging. It expands my knowledge, adds variety and reflection to my career.
