I was born in the UK, but was educated between the UK and Belgium. In the UK my education was in English, while in Belgium it was fully in French. I have utilized my unique cultural and linguistic background to teach English in Japan for the past several years. I am highly adaptable, able to wield my extensive international experience to find solutions to problems, serving the needs of the people around me. For example, when I first started teaching one of my classes, the children were not performing well in English so I took on the task of improving their abilities. By introducing phonics into the curriculum, I built the students' English fundamentals. This not only helped the children learn to read more effectively, but also improved their writing and speaking skills. As another example of me serving the needs of the people around me, I created a sports club for English teachers in my city, to help build a stronger community post COVID. After researching various gymnasiums, as well as the necessary equipment, I was able to build a thriving sports club of over thirty members that now meets monthly to play volleyball.
