  • Manage 4 direct reports, 60-70 fabricators and welders, machinists, fitters, painters, drivers in a mechanical engineering environment.
  • Ensure all targets are met to meet client demand, this can mean day and night shifts have to be introduced.
  • Ensure all works are being done in accordance with company health and safety strategy.
  • Manage material and component inventory levels to match works forecast.
  • Lead a weekly meeting with design team, senior management to create a deliverable forecast and allocate resources.

  • Proactively identified and solved complex problems that impacted management and business direction.
  • Managed £700K+ rapid build of a 188T steel frame for a vaccine testing facility for public health England during the COVID 19 pandemic, 24hr working was required to achieve the results needed. The project was delivered 3 weeks ahead of the original target date. No accidents or injures occurred at any stage of the fabrication, transport or build due to safe working systems implemented by myself to accommodate the high tempo of works needed by the client. Over 50 people were on my team to deliver this project.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met on multiple projects by leading weekly team meetings with in house management.
  • Maintaining industry standard quality control checks on items produced in our factory.
  • Responsible for Health and Safety standards in a working factory, this includes implementing new safe systems of work due to COVID 19 as well as updating and creating risk assessments and method statements.

  • Section second in command for 2 tours of Afghanistan in 2012 and 2014 of an 8 man team of Royal Engineers. Our primary task was to provide close combat engineer support to infantry companies. This included construction tasks and searching routes for other teams.
  • Brigade level instructor at the school of armoured fighting vehicles for 1 year teaching vehicle crews how to fight from a different types of vehicles. This included running a machine gun range with up to 40 students per shoot during day and night training.
  • Completed two 5 month tours in Canada and one 5 month tour of Kenya carrying out high tempo training.
