I have completed my Level 8 BA (Hons) in Social Care Practice and I am currently waiting for my CORU registration to be approved. I have gained invaluable experience over the course of my degree and in my first job out of college in Intellectual Disability Services. In the few years I have been in the disability services, it has been so rewarding helping people to live their best life, doing things such as providing care, supporting them to live in the community, doing activities, going on trips in Ireland and abroad and helping them be involved in the process, supporting them to live an autonomous life. While studying for my degree in college I also did 400 hours of placement in a homeless service that also taught me a wide range of social skills and how important building a relationship with a client is in order to make real progress. I have also listed previous experience in jobs that provided me with skills that I still use to this day. My second 400 hours was in Residential Intellectual Disabilities Services where I continue to work today now that I am Qualified.
