Dairine Walsh

My name is Dairine Walsh. I am living in Leitrim and married with Two boys. In 2023 I enrolled in the Certificate for Counselling and Psychotherapy course with PCI College and absolutely loved it. From there I decided to go on to do the degree course and have just completed my First year.

My original work background is in Sales and Marketing and up until 2021 when I had my Second son I worked for a Medical device company as a Sales and Marketing Executive. I have always had an interest in helping people and having gone through many years of therapy myself I realised by becoming a qualified therapist I could best enable myself to follow my passion.

I believe I am a very Empathetic, compassionate person. I possess strong active listening skills which I am actively practicing within my course work. I really want to help people improve the quality of their day to day lives and foster better relationships with themselves and others.

• I love exercising in the gym and Running. I exercise each morning to start my day.
• I have developed a keen interest in reading within the last few years. I love reading work from Psychologists and therapists and educating myself about the vast array of therapeutic interventions in use today.
• I love spending time outdoors, I find it very beneficial for the mind and body.

I have ran a number of Half marathons, the most recent being the Manchester Great Run in May 2025. My aim is to one day complete a full marathon

My two children are my greatest accomplishment in life. I have two boys, 6 & 4 years old and am eternally blessed to have them.

I am 11 years in recovery from Alcohol addiction. I will always be grateful for the help and care I received when I was struggling and now I want to help others in the same way. 

I believe everyone has the ability to overcome their mental health battles if they are helped by the right people and receive the necessary therapeutic care they need. No one should struggle alone.
