I have voluntarily worked in several equestrian settings; some of the duties would have consisted of setting up and assisting children in the Saturday clubs. Provide supervision to younger children, advising them on safety issues, and making them mindful of their surroundings. Taking customers on accompanied hacks. Adherence of all safety on/off site rules and regulations. Working as part of a team to fulfill the needs of the stables. Cleaning and feeding of livestock and surroundings. Been able to use initiative in certain circumstances to obtain best end result. Using common sense in time management to make sure duties/customers are accommodated. Helping out generally, providing extra assistance when required. Maintaining a calm, friendly approachable demeanor to promote a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Cooley Stables, Moville
Assisting owner with school children with additional needs in therepy sessions with horse based activities. Being responsive, proactive, and adapting their abilities helps them to overcome their fears and make their experience relaxed and enjoyable, while ensuring their safety is of utmost importance. This was paid work.
