I studied a Bachelor in Science in Early Childhood Education at Marino Institute of Education. This degree involved a wide range of practice-based modules and theoretically based modules in Early Literacy, Early Mathematical Awareness, Psychology and Special Educational Needs. I had placement experiences across all four years and finished my final year placement with a first grade. This course equipped me with a broad understanding of children's development and learning, from a holistic perspective and demonstrated the role of high-quality interactions and relationships, and child development theories that support pedagogical practice. I was awarded with a first as my degree mark. I carried out a dissertation in final year, the topic was titled, ''How the role of care in Early Childhood Education impacts perception towards the sector''. I received a first as my grade for this dissertation. I presented this research at the Student Teacher Educational Research Conference in June 2025.
