Year 4 Thesis (Individual): Conduct a research project that combines an academic placement and a literature evaluation in biopharmaceutical science. Under academic and corporate supervision, access and analyze scientific literature to support experimental or dissertation-based research. Completing a written dissertation, oral presentation, and viva voce will help develop critical thinking, time management, and scientific communication skills. Reflect on placement experiences and use scientific reasoning to produce evidence-based findings., Year 3: As part of a 3rd year project entitled Analyzing ibuprofen racemates in over the counter pharmaceuticals using High Performance Liquid Chromatography with a chiral stationary phase, I had to collect data in the lab including the brand name Nurofen and the generic forms of ibuprofen. This project included computer skills using excel, as well as laboratory techniques such as aseptic technique, sample preparation, dilution, pipetting. An oral presentation (viva) was required post write up to explain the learning outcomes and answer any further questions which required good knowledge and communication.
Currently seeking a professional placement opportunity as part of my final semester in Biopharmaceutical Science. Eager to apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting, gain industry experience, and contribute meaningfully to a team within the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, MedTech, or diagnostics sectors
