- Began with Colm when I was 16, doing small jobs like ring rolling and grain drying. But as I got more experienced, I began driving the chaser bin, plough, cultivating, lime spreading, and combining.
- I have knowledge of the three different sowing practices we used on the farm, mainly min-till, with direct drilling and conventional ploughing methods also being used, depending on the weather.
- My boss, being an agronomist, I got to walk crops if we weren't busy learning about disease and different crop varieties.
- Performed regular maintenance on equipment, such as changing oil, lubricating components, and replacing worn parts.

- I went on a J1 this year, working for a custom harvester, as I wanted to experience farming outside of Ireland.
- Harvested a variety of crops including wheat, barley, oats, rye, hemp and garbanzo beans.
- Harvested crops in Arizona, South Dakota, and North Dakota.
- Got to see how different farming techniques are used in two completely different parts of the country.
- Learned the workings of a rotary combine, adjusting settings based on the crop, moisture, and the yield.
- Carried out daily maintenance on my machine and replaced any worn or broken parts to reduce any downtime
- Recorded and mapped out fields to allow farmers to see their crop's yield and prepare for next year's harvest.

- Helped out with Athlumney farms during the potato planting as they were struggling for staff.
- Helped prepare the ground for planting by sub-soiling, rotavating, and, for the majority of the time, de-stoning.

- Helped out with the digging of the potatoes that autumn whenever I was available
