
A fourth-year microbiology student with hands-on laboratory experience and knowledge in areas including virology, epidemiology, and food microbiology. Completed a research placement with Teagasc assisting with experiments investigating bacteriophage products for the control of Listeria monocytogenes in dairy products. Completed a final year research project on the use of bacteriophage products for the control Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus, gaining experience in molecular cloning, protein purification, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and experimental troubleshooting. Alongside academic experience, developed strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities through work in retail and hospitality, as well as leadership and organisational skills as a volunteer leader with the Beaver Scouts
