• Functions of a flight data officer at Nadi or Nausori is very much similar where mainly phone calls are received and directed them to the controller as required
• Acceptance and read back of messages concerning Transfer of Control, departure, arrivals received on the voice circuit either from Nadi ATMC, Nadi Tower or Nausori Tower and passing the details to appropriate controller
• Prepare flight progress strips from flight plan schedules, notified non-schedules or as requested by the controller, prepared and distributed aircraft movement, operational and other aeronautical messages
• An hourly ATIS broadcast is also manually updated
• Other duties included removing incoming messages from the teleprinter and process or filter them accordingly
• NOTAMs and SAR messages must be date stamped and passed to the controller as appropriate
• Nadi/Nausori METAR/SPECI shall be placed in a strip holder and kept on the appropriate position on the Aerodrome/Approach Console
